Veteran's Widow

Donation protected
Hello,

I'm not the best at this kinda of thing so please bear with me. My name is Ben Larramore, I am a 12 year veteran of the Indiana Army National Guard, my father Mark Larramore passed away August 27th 2015. He was a veteran of the Navy, and served honorably for just under 8 years before he was medically discharged in 1987. He was discharged due to his becoming symptomatic with Crohn's disease.

He had battled with Crohn's ever since, his was a more severe case than many cases his doctors had seen. Over the years he had several surgeries to remove sections of his intestons. It continued to get worse with either Crohn's, or side effects from the medicines to treat it causeing damage. This escalated greatly 9 years ago when he went into total renal failure. Fortunately I was a match ( which wasn't a surprise if you ever meet us ) and was able to donate a kidney to keep him from needing dialysis. This helped him for a while but the anti-rejection drugs he had to take caused extreme bone degredation causeing him to have a double hip replacement about 4 years ago.

After all that his immune system had become completly impaired causeing him to get several infections. Over the last two years had to be hospitalized multiple times for pneumonia, and even h1n1. This last time we just couldn't get him better.

This all brings me to my request my fathers health just didn't allow him to have life insurance or the ones he could get would cost an unimaginable cost monthly. My mom was able to take out a small policy through her work on him, but after lossing his income it just won't be enough to take care of everything mom will need.

To compound on this my brother lives with my mom as he was a severally premature child. He has always suffered with a few issues that have prevented him from living independantly. My dad never wantting to take anything someone else might need, never wantted to take him to get SSI. Because he and my mom could make it. And he felt that would be money someone else might not get who needed it more.

.      Now my mother will need to take on all the bills without dads disablity or VA benifits. Mom is in the process of applying for her own widows benefits through the VA but this will be a reduced amount.

What I am hoping for is just anything that can help her get through this transition time, help with some of the unexpected costs with probate process or what ever else will come.

Lastly we as a family always wantted to go on a cruise together. My dad always loved cruises, especially in the caribbean to all the temples. Dad expressed wantted to be cremated as he felt graves were a waste of real estate and cost to much money. We are going on a cruise next year the week of my dads birthday, their anniversary, and my birthday. We always had our family vacations that week. We will take some of dads ashes with us to spread along the way and just so we can finally go on that cruise as a family we always wantted to go on together. Any money more than mom needs for immediate needs it would be put to helping fund this final trip as a family.

Thank you for reading this I know it was long. Anything that you can give to help my mom through this time it would be greatly appreciated.
