Unveiling (ArtPrize: Blue Bridge)

Unveiling is a piece of art that we hope will heal and inform. It is an opportunity for victims of childhood sexual abuse to participate in a 19 day event that will allow participants to shed light on their personal histories, and unite with others in a singular visual voice.

The installation consists of several triangular frames that will display printed silk panels. Each panel will have a person’s individual written recount of a memory involving a childhood sexual assault. The memory will appear only after the panel is exposed to the ultra violet rays of the sun. People sharing their narratives are also welcome to participate in the installation of their personal panel. Each panel will have its own unveiling during the time of the exhibition.

The unveiling will take place on the Blue Bridge during the 7th Annual Art Prize Exhibition, Sept. 23 through Oct. 11, 2015.
