Chloe’s Journey

Our hearts break each day since the day we found out.

For the people who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Chloe, she is the spirited, much-loved, always smiling  young girl. Chloe is love. Chloe is the girl that wants to change the world.  Last week Chloe turned 15. Last week she was also diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma, a rare form of soft tissue cancer that has developed in her foot.

This diagnosis has changed her world entirely.

Following a difficult and overwhelming journey of tests and scans, the diagnosis was received that Chloe had been in pain because she’d been battling something so much more serious than anyone could have ever imagined – well, it’s hard to find the words for this; and to fully comprehend that Chloe will not only battle cancer but will also lose her leg from the knee down. After days of questions, tests, and meetings, Chloe and her devastated family were left with no other option; amputate one leg, and then undergo intense chemotherapy.

We stay positive and hopeful for a successful treatment and a complete recovery, not only because Chloe is in the best medical hands, but also because she is strong and she is positive and she is the portrayal of Hope.

Unfortunately, the hardest part of the journey lies ahead. As part of a comprehensive treatment plan, Chloe’s leg will be amputated next week and will then embark on at least six months of intensive chemotherapy at Westmead Children’s Hospital.

As you can imagine, the next six months means her mum and sisters will be putting their whole lives and work on hold while they put all of their focus into facing this devastating fight head-on. Caring for Chloe comes not only with intense emotional and physical challenges, but also financial ones.

Chloe’s mum Juliana and sisters Jacinta and Pamela  are  loved by so many, and we have been asked how they and others can support them during this extremely difficult time. We wanted to provide an opportunity for those who would like to support financially – no matter how big or small – to help ease some of the financial burden of this unexpected diagnosis, and allow them to focus entirely on what matters most; Chloe and her journey ahead.

Any contributions will help with the costs associated with additional medical equipment, daily and living expenses and anything else they may need while they take time out from work to care for Chloe.

Whether or not you’re able to help financially, we would so appreciate  if you could share this campaign far and wide, and keep Chloe and her family in your thoughts and prayers for a full and fast recovery.

Julz - We pray that God gives you the strength to keep going while you battle your own illness with fibromyalgia.

Chloe – You have so many that love and care for you.
Stay positive, TEAM CHLOE!
