USA Mens National Volleyball Team Tryout

Hi, I’m Kaipo Tagaloa.

December 17-18 I will be flying to Anaheim, CA to tryout for the USA Mens National Volleyball Team. My mother was on the national team at my age and competed in the 2000 Olympics. Starting my volleyball career at the age of 18, it has been a long shot of a dream of mine to do the same, never thinking I’d ever get an opportunity until they announced this first ever open tryout. 

I currently play at Southern Virginia University a NCAA DIII Liberal Arts School. In 2016-17 I was given the opportunity to be a part of SVU’s first NCAA non-conference team finishing 22-6. In 2017-18 we joined the Continental Volleyball Conference; beating ranked teams and becoming nationally ranked ourselves at #8. This being  the first ever national ranked team in SVU’s history. We finished the  season ranked #14, just one loss short of making the conference tournament.
