Help Lila & Izzy Come Back Home

Hi all! As many of you who know me, I'm not one to openly ask for favors... especially to this extent, but here we are. 

My name is Melissa, I moved from St. Petersburg, FL to Calgary, AB on May 3rd due to the ongoing pandemic. Unfortunately, I couldn't take my girls with me as pet travel was restricted. 

Lila and I are inseparable, she has been with me ever since I was a cancer patient. She is my therapy dog and life without her, even if it's momentary, pretty much sucks.

Izzy, Lila's grandpup, is the missing piece in our hearts, she's the most loving, innocent, joyful ball of energy you'll ever meet and will steal your heart in a second.

Moving to another country to start over is no walk in the park, add a pandemic to the mix and I promise you that IKEA reopening will be the least of your worries. 

My house doesn't feel like home without them.

I've constantly reached to all airlines possible, waiting for policy updates, restrictions being possibly lifted, etc. The dates keep getting postponed and as much as I try to understand, I feel frustrated and helpless. 

Thanks to a Facebook support group for people that are going through the same situation I was finally able to contact a company that is able to bring my girls all the way to Canada, but as you can see... it's quite pricey. This cost covers both the shipper's and dogs' needs for this travel which is a whopping 2,800 miles. 

Anything, absolutely anything counts and we will be forever grateful for your help.

Hola a todos! Los que me conocen saben que se me dificulta pedir favores, mucho mas a este grado, pero aqui estamos. 

Mi nombre es Melissa, me mude de St. Petersburg, FL a Calgary, AB el 3 de Mayo debido a la pandemia. Lamentablemente no pude traer a mis ninas pues estaba restringido. 

Lila y yo somos inseparables, ella esta en mi vida desde que fui paciente de cancer, ella es mi perra de terapia. La vida sin ella, aunque sea momentario, ha sido muy dificil.

Izzy, la nieta de Lila, es la pieza que completa el rompecabezas de nuestros corazones. No habia conocido perra tan carinosa, inocente y alegre como ella, tan pronto la conoces te roba el corazon.

Mudarse a otro pais para empezar desde cero no es tarea facil, mucho menos en plena pandemia. Mi casa sin ellas no es un hogar. 

He estado en constante contacto con todas las aerolineas, esperando actualizaciones y que por fin levanten dichas restricciones. He tratado de ser paciente y entender el por que de todo esto, sin embargo me siento frustrada e impotente. 

A traves de un grupo de soporte en Facebook de personas que estan pasando por la misma situacion que yo (tienen a sus mascotas varadas en otros paises y hasta continentes) logre contactarme con una compania que puede transportarme a Lila & Izzy, ya que la mayoria no opera fuera de Estados Unidos. Pero, como pueden ver, es mas costoso de lo anticipado. Este costo estaria cubriendo las necesidades del transportista y las ninas para este viaje que es bastante largo (2,800 millas = 4,506 km).

Cada aporte, no importa que tan pequeno parezca, sera una gran ayuda para nosotras y siempre estaremos agradecidas con cada uno de ustedes.
