Urgent! Hugh’s Medical Challenge
Our brother, Hugh Tirrell, is in need of immediate oral surgery. He has advanced periodontal disease, which means he must have most of his teeth pulled and replaced with prosthetic dentures. His oral surgeon has told him that this surgery must happen as soon as possible. The $22,000 necessary for this 6-9 month process, is an unachievable barrier for Hugh.
Hugh’s physical health and financial resources are depleted from his recent kidney transplant and all the medical issues stemming from it:
*A compromised immune system from the
anti-rejection medications.
*A resulting heart condition: A-Fib.
*Greater strain on both Hugh’s heart and.
transplanted kidney
*Can lead to a stroke.
Left untreated, Hugh’s condition will further impact his oral and overall health including deterioration of his few healthy teeth needed to minimize denture cost. (Other than periodontal disease his doctors at the Mayo Clinic say he is in good health.)
Immediate action is required to arrest Hugh’s serious periodontal disease.
Being unable to afford the necessary surgery also impacts Hugh’s ability to earn a living. He has been working on creating a collection of children’s books about each American state. Without this surgery, his condition will inhibit further development and marketing of the series of books.
