Urban Tech Academy (UTA) is a charitable, educational and civic organization created to provide IT skill development in underserved communities; by providing “education to careers” opportunities for youth and adults. UTA is a comprehensive program that prepares participants for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) careers. Our model employs immersive teaching with lab-based training. The program is implemented in cohorts of 25 to 30 students at various locations throughout Englewood, Auburn Gresham, Chatham and Grand Crossing.
Because the demand for our services is greater than our resources, we are desperately in need of funding to sustain our operations. Currently, money is needed to hire staff, professional development/training, and general operating expenses. At this point of the year, our expenses have exceeded our revenue.
Please help Urban Tech Academy to continue the important work that we are doing. With your help, UTA will become the Black Tech Mecca in Chicago. UTA will become a vibrant, thriving, and diverse "educational learning community" where children and adults learn and develop IT skills. A place where IT professionals meet, work, and collaborate with others in the industry.
