Meet Will. He is 4 years old and life just isn't being fair to him right now. The doctors think it's a Wilm's tumor, nephroblastoma... better known as Kidney cancer. One of the top 5 most common types of cancer in children aged 2-4 years old and it's living in my nephew. He will be having a CT guided biopsy Monday(12/5) to find out for sure and we should get a prognosis and have a treatment plan by the end of the week. He has a very long road ahead of radiation and chemotherapy. After treatments they hope to remove the tumor through surgery.
This little boy is special. He has been the light in so many of our lives. Will is a new big brother and cousin. He is the spitting image of his daddy and wants to grow up to make pizzas like him. He is a fighter of bad guys, spiders and snakes for his momma and now is a fighter of a childhood cancer. Thankfully, many people are willing to fight for Will. We are #willswarriors.
At this time we want to do anything and everything we can to make this journey as stress free financially as we can for his mom and dad. They will be making the drive back and forth to Kansas City with an unknown amount of time away from their jobs, schooling, and home. This is where you come in. We have a goal of $10,000 to help mom and dad ease their minds and keep the focus on taking care of their son as medical bills and other financial obligations from Will's journey start to roll in. Most of all, we ask for prayers. Pray that our sweet boy stays strong in this painful and confusing time for him. Pray that Mom, Dad, and the rest of his family remain positive, uplifting and focused on his recovery. Just pray.
