Christmas to Remember

Wonewoc-Center School District is a small rural school in Wisconsin, about 17 miles northwest of Reedsburg, WI and 20 miles southwest of Mauston, WI.  For over 10 years we have sponsored a “Christmas to Remember” project  to lighten the burden on needy families within our school district.  We are truly grateful for the generosity of this community to make this a successful program, however our funds have dwindled down due to the increasing number of families requesting assistance.

In 2015 we helped out 22 families/44 children, in 2016 it was 29 families/65 children.  This year we are already looking at 20 families, with 50 children, and I still have requests arriving daily as the holiday approaches!

It is sincerely a delight to see the faces of the parents as they receive the gifts for their children knowing that they would not be able to provide otherwise.  The tears, the hugs, the heartfelt thanks and holiday wishes are something that I wish I could share with all of you.

We are reaching out to the community for much needed help, so that we may purchase much needed winter clothing, books, toys, and possible groceries for the children and families.    We would like donations to be received by Friday, December 15th, 2017.  We truly appreciate your support and generosity!  Merry Christmas!
