Not too long ago, I was asked how I would describe myself. I replied, “Honest, insightful and sensitive.” Those have been the values I’ve lived by for the entirety of my life. I admit, it’s not always been easy. But, it’s the choice I’ve made about how I wanted to walk in this life. My personal and professional lives have been predicated on these three principles.

And now with those three values in mind, I have embarked on what I know is the most humbling and exciting creative project of my life: Un World Diferent. The reason is simple. It’s an exploration of the most profound human need, love. The threads of love (or lack of it) are stitched through this literary work. It is an homage to the woman I love and to those around me. This three-part literary piece is my humble attempt to create a symphony from the assorted melodies and silences that have played around me.

I have a rich resource of experiences to draw from in my life. I was born in Barcelona, and my early childhood experiences in this global city colored my view of the world. I worked as a Spanish, History and Latin teacher for 9 years in Spain and then 12 years in the United States. I enrolled in a master's program at American University in Washington, DC, and I started to work as a coach and organizational development consultant. All the while, as I taught, I was learning from the lives of others.

 From the beginning, I was drawn toward what was underneath the apparent and visible in the world around me. That took me to dig in archetypes, Jungian psychology, holistic healing, and psychological astrology at the Centre for Psychological Astrology in London. Essentially, I have been studying the lives of people around me for as long as I can remember.

The Project
Un World Diferent is a constellation of three worlds that will become three books, differentiated but connected, created in three different languages, and three different genres, and focused on three different layers of our inner world: our inner child, our emotional life as adults, and our self-love and leadership potential, as adults and as young people and teenagers.
The three books will include illustrations and supplementary materials for their readers. They will be translated into the other two languages as well.




1. The BrighSical and DarVing Queendom of Queen Karola (El Llumisical Regne Foscumorós de la Reina Karola)



The BrighSical and DarVing Queendom of Queen Karola (El Llumisical Regne Foscumorós de la Reina Karola) is a tale written for the inner child each one of us has but, before anything else and above all, it is a declaration of love to the woman I love deeply, and who is the direct and only inspiration for Queen Karola and everything there is and there will be in her queendom. Queen Karola's Queendom is what a world built upon respect, kindness, love, empathy, connectedness, truly free imagination, could be. It is not a children's tale, but a tale written from my inner child aiming at reaching out to your own inner child, so we can share one of the infinite possible worlds we can create from the best of us.

The book will come with 12 illustrations, and a short video will be made as well, which will include music, special effects, and the voices of the Queendom. English and Spanish translations will be published as well.

Out of the 60 copies printed thanks to your generous donation, 30 will be donated to a local NGO in the Valencia area (Spain).

El Llumisical Regne Foscumorós de la Reina Karola és un conte que s'està escrivint per a l'infant interior que cada persona adulta porta dins, però, primer de tot i per sobre de tot, és una declaració d'amor a la dona a la qual estimo profundament, i en la qual està inspirada la Reina Karola i tot el que hi ha i hi haurà en el seu regne. El Regne de la Reina Karola és un reflex d'ella, i abans d'això, la Reina Karola és un reflex de la dona amb el cor de la qual i ànima conviuen el meu cor i la meva ànima. El Regne de la Reina Karola és allò que un món basat en el respecte, la gentilesa, l'amor, l'empatia, la connexió, la creativitat veritablement lliure podria ser, sentit per l'infant interior, explicat amb els recursos de la persona adulta i buscant connectar amb l'infant interior de les persones que el llegeixin.

El llibre inclourà 12 il.lustracions i un video curt amb música, efectes especials i les veus del Regne de la Reina Karola. Es publicaran també traduccions al castellà i l'anglès.

De les 60 còpies que s'imprimiran gràcies a la vostra generosa donació, 30 seran donades a una ONG local del País Valencià.

2. La voz por ti encontrada ( The Voice Found By You)


La voz por ti encontrada ( The Voice Found By You) is a poetry book filled with the footprints of different types of love and the lack thereof. It comes directly from my own experiences and the experiences of people who have been or who are right now in my life, and that might very well resonate with many other people, precisely because of their authenticity. 
This book will be an open conversation as well. That is why it will come with a supplementary materials to free up the readers' creative writing, a selection of unique images to spark that creativity even more so, and small online gatherings and writing workshops.
The English translation will be published as part of this project.

Out of the 60 copies printed thanks to your generous donation, 30 will be donated to a local NGO in Spain,  working for the betterment of adults' wellbeing through reading or writing.

La voz por ti encontrada será un libro de poemas vivenciales, huellas de las experiencias reales de varias personas también reales. Está escrito desde la convicción de que lo más importante no es "saber escribir", sino sentir primero para escribir después, con las palabras que la persona encuentra dentro de sí misma, centrada en expresar lo que necesite expresar y no en lo que otras personas puedan pensar sobre lo que escribe. Y sentir implica conectar, o reconectar, con la propia capacidad de sentir, con ese núcleo dentro de cada persona que es único e irrepetible, su tesoro escondido.
​Este libro será también una conversación abierta. Por eso, irá acompañado de un cuaderno con materiales para liberar la escritura creativa de otras personas, una colección de imágenes escogidas para estimularla aún más y pequeños encuentros de lecturas poéticas y talleres de escritura online.

De las 60 copias que se imprimirán gracias a tu generosa donación, 30 serán donadas a una ONG en España que trabaje en favor de la mejora del bienestar de personas adultas a través de la lectura o la escritura.


3. The Lost Voice Of The Silent King


The Lost Voice Of The Silent King is a compilation of meditations structured according to the Silent King's inner exploration. It is a difficult, complex, and at times painful journey of a person aiming at being able to love herself like never before and, from there, leading a better life for herself and offering also her leadership potential to others. There are pieces of many people from all walks of life and of all ages in the Silent King, people who, in different moments of my life, and in different places in the world, allowed me to get to know part of their sensitive and troubled inner world, as each one of them was seeking their own voice to keep going, in ther personal or professional life or both, in a world that, too often, was overwhelmingly hostile. Because of all that, this is a book conceived specially for the heart of troubled adults and at-risk youth.

At the end, these meditations and conversations will come with materials for the readers' own personal and professional journaling, as well as with gorgeous illustrations by Elliott Salinas, a young American artist who, some years ago, was his own Silent King, and today he lets his hands express what his silence nurtures.

The 60 copies printed thanks to your generous donations will be donated to two organizations: 30 copies will go to Covenant House NJ, and 30 more to STOMP Out Bullying.

The Lost Voice Of The Silent King (La voz perdida del rey silencioso) es una recopilación de meditaciones estructuradas según el proceso de exploración interior del Rey Silencioso. Es el viaje interior difícil, complejo y, a veces, doloroso de una persona que se propone llegar a quererse a sí misma como nunca antes y, a partir de ahí, llevar una vida mejor para sí misma y ofrecer su capacidad de liderazgo a otras personas. Hay trocitos de muchas personas en el Rey Silencioso, personas que, en diferentes momentos de mi vida, y en diferentes lugares del mundo, me permitieron llegar a conocer parte de su mundo interior sensible y turbulento, en la búsqueda de cada una para encontrar su propia voz y seguir adelante, en su vida personal y profesional, en un mundo que, con frecuencia, era abrumadoramente hostil.  Por todo ello, este es un libro concebido especialmente para personas adultas que en situaciones difíciles y jóvenes en riesgo de exclusión.
Estas meditaciones y conversaciones irán acompañadas de materiales para que los lectores puedan hacer su propio trabajo de reflexión y exploración a través de la escritura. Incluirá también preciosas ilustraciones creadas por Elliott Salinas, un joven artista estadounidense que, hace algunos años, fue su propio Rey Silencioso y hoy deja que sus manos expresen lo que su silencio alimenta.

The project will take about seven months. By the end of it, two illustrators, one video editor, two translators, and I will have worked lovingly and creatively to make it happen thanks to your generous support. All of us will work on pieces of the project as the funds are made available to us.
