My Name is Mike Kojima, I am the Editor in Chief for MotoIQ.com.

One of our close Industry friends Yukio Taira who is the Aftermarket Marketing Manager for Garrett Turbo was stricken by stroke as he flew to do race support at Road Atlanta this week.

Yukio is currently in a hospital in Memphis Tennessee.  He faces a long recovery and a lot of medical bills.  His family also faces a lot of travel expense to be at his side.

Yukio is young and strong and will make it.  I am just asking our Industry and his many friends to help.  Any amount is appreciated no matter how small.

Thank you all for your care.

Good News from Emma!

"Yukio is slowly making progress in rehabilitation. He has learned to say "no" and is wheeling himself up and down the hall in his wheelchair. He is not quite ready for visitors yet because he wants to be able to talk which he is close to doing"- Emma

Please be patient. Emma will let us know when Yukio is well enough to have visitors. Too much too soon can be overwhelming.

Yukio and Emma have arrived safely in California and Yukio will soon begin therapy. We know a lot of you are dying to see him but the family wishes to have some privacy for now to let Yukio settle in and get some rest after the trip. Please do not call or message anyone in the family yet. Yukio has so many friends that the outpouring of good intents is overwhelming. It is appreciated but a lot of things need to be handled now and no distractions for Yukio and the family would be good. We will keep you informed on when Yukio can have visitors.

Yukio is coming home soon! Plans are being made to move him to a hospital in Torrance. He will need to be moved via a special medical flight which will be very expensive so your donations are going to be a big part of this. Once in Torrance he will begin therapy to speed his recovery.

This is an amazing thing to see. I am so glad that there are still good, amazing, caring and loving people left in this world. Especially in the car community! Prayers, thoughts and wishes to everyone affected.

Ran a promotion at my shop. Most people donated via the internet. One customer donated via a check in the mail, thus I'm now donating on his behalf. Jay C.
