Unpaid Travel Lodge Digger Driver - Edge Lane

Donation protected
Thank you for all the donations, I have spoke with John, he’s overwhelmed with the positive comments from people in the same industry as him who know how hard it can be. The Sun unfortunately took a viral joke out of context and wanted to create a more viral headline now many people believed he was paid, when himself and many other co-workers haven’t been even now. I’ve been told that the ground worker boss has now fled completely owing money. I am unable to confirm this point but REAL co-workers have stated this. I have chatted with family of John and when he’s able to he’ll be able to say thank you himself.

This gofundme has been created to help fund the lost wages for the Travel Lodge - Edge Lane Digger Driver who is owed 600 in unpaid wages and primarily any legal fees and expenses which may arise as result of the demolition of the travel lodge.

Many people in the building trade encounter similar situations week in week out and this guy has helped MANY tradesmen and workers to get paid on time and to stand up for themselves when its really needed.

Any money raised here is to be given to the driver to help him primarily with any legal fees and to help the driver cover any expenses which may have arisen. The funds will be given directly to the mini digger driver via gofundme and there support team who have been involved and he will be the sole beneficiary.

I used to work in the building trade here in The Cotswolds and know how the industry can work. I’m working with the media to make contact directly with the driver. It’s amazing to see all the workmen, families and everyone helping chip together to support this guy after he really stood up for himself and his wages.

I have been in touch with Johns family see ‘updates’ for more details.

John is extremely greatful for the comment and support he has received and every time I’ve spoke to him he has nothing to say other than thanking everyone who has donated. Following conversations with John he has requested that his cousin Tony was added as a beneficiary in order to get the money paid to John.
