UNO Cricket Club ACC Tournament

We the members of UNO Cricket Club take pleasure in confirming the news of our participation in the prestigious 9th American College Cricket National Championship. The club consisting of 15 UNO graduate students including two alumni are very much excited having qualified to play at National level, competing against the top 28 teams from the United States of America.
“The young fighter had a hungry look, the kind you get from not eating for a while.” We don’t mean to exaggerate but our efforts, commitment and perseverance seem to corroborate this fact, making us the only team to play nationals from the state of Nebraska. It is a firm belief that our presence at big platforms will also reflect positively on UNO. And we can say this with pride after managing to earn a majority of our earnings for the tournament from the success in sport. However, every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you who have supported us last year and wish to continue the same going forward as well.
The following are some of the details:
Tournament – American College Cricket Nationals 2017
Venue - Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Dates - March 15th - March 20th
Starting from Omaha on 13th afternoon of March to catch an early morning flight at Chicago, and will be reaching the same day in Fort Lauderdale. The return would be backtracking the above plan to reach Omaha on 21st March.
Tournament Fee: $800 (Paid)
Airfare: $1200 (Paid)
Ground Transportation: $1100 (Awaiting Fund)
Gas: $200 (Awaiting Fund)
Food: $500 (Awaiting Fund)
Housing: $1370 (Paid)
Miscellaneous: $700 (Awaiting Fund)
Total Budget: $5870
Amount earned and spent: $3370
Goal to earn: $2500
How to support?
All the donations can be paid through credit card on the Go Fund Me website.
Where do the funds go?
All the funds donated by donors are deposited directly into the sports club account which can only be used for the club activities. We maintain transparency and note of all the transactions.
Finally, we would like to reinforce our philosophy we believe in. We can do anything as long as we have the passion, the drive, the focus, and the support.
Note: UNO's Cricket Club was established in 2013 and it has won 11 titles since then.
