Update as of May 10, 2019:

Eliza has been in the PICU for 19 days and still isn’t out of the woods. She is hooked up to expensive life support equipment which is added to the medical bills daily.

Now as the bills have started pouring in and we’ve gotten a better idea of what the over all costs will be, we realize we haven’t even scratched the surface of what the Pavias will need to pay for medical bills and everything that goes along with it.

Some examples of their expenses are as follows:

-Multiple Specialists who are not fully covered by insurance.

-  A $40,000 “dolphin bed” was prescribed and special ordered to prevent bed sores for her frail little body. This will not be fully covered by insurance.

-Specialty shoes for Eliza to prevent drop foot. Not covered by insurance.

-Gas money for 4 hours of daily driving between Eliza’s parents, Mike and Jenny.

-Missed work days.

-Get this!!! Jenny was supposed to take her nursing school finals the DAY Eliza was admitted to the hospital. They now, unexpectedly, will have to pay for ANOTHER semester of school!

-Eliza is hooked up to multiple life saving machines.  The EKMO machine she was recently on cost $5000 per day and will not be fully covered by insurance.

-Ambulance rides are not covered by insurance and she took two rides in one night.

We are now at 19 days in the PICU with no clear end in sight.

The Pavia’s have expressed unending gratitude to everyone who has donated, sent notes, served their family in any way and are always grateful for prayers.

Help us take the stress of financial burden off of their plate in an already mind-blowingly stressful situation. We want them to be able to focus on the needs of their family and nothing else right now.
We got this, team ELIZA!!! Let’s go!!

*********************************************

Just a few hours after celebrating Eliza's 14th birthday the Pavia family found their sweet  Eliza with no heartbeat. They were able to revive her and two ambulance rides later she’s now in the PICU at Primary Children’s Hospital.  Since then she’s coded twice and had to be revived by team of doctors and nurses. It was decided that it would be best for her to be connected to an EKMO machine.  Her lungs are full of fluid and she’s the sickest kid in the PICU.
Jenny and Mike are enduring an emotional and physically exhausting experience watching Eliza fight for her life. In such times the last thing anybody would want them to worry about is the cost of Eliza’s Life Support. If we unite as friends and family to help ease the financial burden, they can better focus on Eliza, their physical and emotional health, and their other four children.
