Unite Cultural Center
“Hip Hop didn’t save my life, The GR818ERS did.”
We are only a few steps away from realizing our dream of opening a community center, and with your help we can bring it to life. The Unite Cultural Center (UCC) will be a cultural hub for the Greater Los Angeles County, housing creative arts, athletic, and social justice programs, and will serve as The GR818ERS’ headquarters. The GR818ERS (pronounced ‘great-one-eighters’) is a grassroots collective that was founded in 2010 by youth from the San Fernando Valley in an effort to combat the challenges they fell victim to as natives of a neighborhood impacted by gangs, drugs and violence.
A program participant since the age of 11 said, “You are the sole reason I’ve broken out of my shell and have been able to properly communicate with others, from my closest companions to strangers from every walk of life…Hip Hop didn’t save my life, The GR818ERS did.”
For the past decade, we've been working tirelessly building this dream; now, we need your support to make it a reality. By donating to the Unite Cultural Center, you will be supporting our mission to use arts and athletics programs to promote non-violence and empower at-risk youth and young adults to become leaders in their community. Your contributions will sponsor local youth, cover program costs, and build our capacity to transform communities through culture, creativity and service.
