Una Sonrisa Para Chuo

Hello, I hope all the readers found themselves in great condition, my name is Jesus de Abreu, a 21 years old Venezuelan man currently living in Portugal with my wife for 3 months now. It has been a tough Summer.

Genesis, my wife, and I just got married this past June and started this huge adventure to come to this beautiful country searching for a better place to live, due to the current political situation of Venezuela, so we packed all our lives in 3 suitcases each, to start our life together. I must admit it, we were thrilled, and scared, and excited about this new chapters in our life’s. Everything went smooth, still we had to be brave, for no one was waiting for us there. As soon as we got there, we found a small place to rent, and I started looking for jobs, within a week I got a call for an interview for a position which made our hearts feel at ease, I was about to start working to be able to provide for us. Then, before getting to start in the company, suddenly I started to feel an unbearable pain in my ribs and started to cough blood. Genesis and I decided to immediately visit a hospital near our place to check everything up, for my symptoms were alarming.

As soon as the doctors started running tests I was obliged to remain in the hospital, in the intensive care room for 13 days straight. The pain was the same, my wife was always beside me, then the oncologist came to my room and told me that I was diagnosed with Cancer. The doctor explained to us that it was located all the way in my lungs. Years ago, in Venezuela, I had endured surgery on one of my testicles due to cancer as well, the following days, doctors did all kinds of exams and found out that the cancer was gone. So, I was sent home with my family. I thought it was a closed chapter in my life. But my current doctor explained us that cancer had reappeared in my lungs and brain, causing all my symptoms and complications. Currently I’m undergoing chemotherapy, 4 cycles of 5 days interned in the I.C.R. and receiving reinforcement each 8 days. I also have been in the need of receive blood transfusions. It sure has been a rough process but I keep my hope and faith up. Due to my current condition I haven’t been able to work or receive any help from the government because I haven’t work yet.

Genesis can’t also work because she takes cares of me and is the one who helps me in everything. The little savings we managed to make in Venezuela are rapidly fading, trips to the hospital IPO de Oporto from or house, which is located at São João da Madeira, are about €15 daily, lease payments, and utilities of our home. I remain undergoing the chemo, but with a smile to share with everyone.

It's been a difficult and unexpected process and experience for everybody, but nowadays I deeply thank Our God that has been with us in each and every step of the way, because only Him made possible to not only receive the expensive treatment this is but also to meet people on our way who has made us grow and see His Grace through them all. People who were the with us with no obligation and yet they decide to lend us a hand, and its people that humanly We could never stop thanking them for that. And all of you who read this, and have been able to keep us in your prayers, sharing our story, we fondly thank you all.
God is sovereign and His plans are mysterious most of the times, but We have the certainty that He knows what He is doing. We only ask that His will to be done and not ours, in order to many others may be able to know that He is the only Eternal God.

John 11:40 New International Version (NIV)
40) Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

I humbly ask to any all of you if it is your will to help us out, I will be deeply grateful to all of you, and if you are in no conditions to aid us financially we will be also happy and grateful if you could help us to share my history

Thanks for everything.

Jesus de Abreu.

To talk about the amount of money we Genesis de Abreu, spouse to Jesus, and Jose Palacios, Uncle of Genesis want to explain about the critical condition of Jesus and the treatment he has to undergo. As it was explained before the frequent chemotherapy that Jesus has to complete, is rapidly changing the functions inside Jesus, so he's diet has changed, he can only consume gluten free food which prices are high here at Oporto, and also medicines are requested on a weekly basis and each week comes with new ones so it is almost something left to fortune. Jesus and Genesis have seen God's provision through every one who they have met in the way. We all know that they need help hence the the strict diet he has to receive, and also the worn out feeling, physically and economic,  given the long hours in trains and buses . Neither of them are capable of working now, but we pray and hope for his soon recovery and for him to been able to go back to the work environment, but in the meanwhile if you wanna be part of this love expression, we thank you deeply and pray to God to bless you always.

We are projecting Jesus recovery on 4 months so all of the amounts are set and multiplied on 4 months: Housing Rent: €400 x 4 = €1600 Gluten Free Food: €200 x 4 = €800 Medicines: €35 x 4 = €140 Transport round-trip from house to hospital and back every day  €120 x 4 = €480 Making a Sum of €3020 for the 4 months. If anybody want to aid in other ways please contact Jose Palacios at [email redacted] I speak both English and Spanish, so feel free to email me if needed. thank you Again.
