Mi nombre es María Guadalupe Novo Torres, venezolana de 59 años y les escribo para comentarles la dura realidad que estoy viviendo, hace casi dos meses me diagnosticaron un carcinoma de mama derecha y hace un mes me practicaron una mastectomía radical y disección axilar ipsilateral, había invasión linfática y vascular, 6 de los 16 ganglios extraídos al momento de la cirugía estaban afectados por la enfermedad, que está en estadio III. Dado el diagnóstico se debe administrar quimioterapia (8 sesiones), radioterapia y bloqueo hormonal, el cual deberá iniciarse antes del 1 de mayo, además debo realizarme tomografía axial computarizada de tórax y de abdomen con contraste oral e intravenoso, ecocardiograma y otros exámenes de laboratorio. Producto de la cirugía practicada presento limitación para la movilización del hombro derecho, retracción del músculo tendinoso en hombro y codo derecho, por lo que me indicaron rehabilitación de 20 sesiones de fisioterapia. Vivo en Venezuela donde la situación del sector salud es alarmante, carencia de insumos y medicinas, y mal estado de los hospitales. Debido a esto conseguir los medicamentos necesarios, realizar los exámenes y aplicar los tratamientos en hospitales no es una opción viable y hacerlo en clínicas privadas el costo es sumamente elevado. Por ello, me veo en la necesidad de solicitar su valiosa colaboración a fin de cubrir los costos iniciales de mi tratamiento. Cualquier contribución, por poco que parezca será muy agradecida.

My name is María Guadalupe Novo Torres, from Venezuela, 59 years old, and I'm about to address the rough situation I'm currently living. Almost two months ago I was diagnosed with right breast carcinoma. A month ago I had a Radical Mastectomy and an Ipsilateral Axillary Dissection, there were both vascular and lymphatic spread. Six out of sixteen extracted ganglia were affected by the disease at Third Stage. Due to this DX, chemotherapy (8 sessions), radiotherapy and hormone-blocking therapy (which must be started prior to May 1st, 2019) were ordered. In addition, an abdomen and thorax CAT Scan with IV and oral contrast, a cardiac echo and other lab work are required. I was instructed to go through 20 physical therapy sessions due to a right shoulder movement limitation and shrinkage of the joint muscle, both in shoulder and right elbow as a result of the surgery. I live in Venezuela, where the health field is going through an alarming situation, medication and supplies shortage, and the poor condition in which hospitals are experiencing. For this reason, acquiring the required medicines, running tests and getting treatment at hospitals is not feasible and the cost of private facilities is extremely elevated. Because of this, I'm in need of requesting your very meaningful benefaction in order to cover the initial costs of the treatment. Any contribution, however small, is very much appreciated.
