Ulyana's Medical Fund
I appeal to you on behalf of my friend Ivan Zayanchukouski from Belarus. His 7 years old daughter Ulyana is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and the Delay of psycho-speech development.
During the rehabilitation, Ulyana’s parents have studied and applied different methods and approaches, visited consultations and seminars of various specialists both in Belarus and abroad (please, read Ulyana’s story at ulyanka.org).
Ulyana’s UPDATED story told by her parents:
We continue our daily lessons on the home rehabilitation program of Ulyana. The program, as before, is a set of exercises from various rehabilitation methods - diet (sugar, gluten, milk and dairy products excluded), tactile and sensory-motor integration of primitive reflexes (S. Masgutova's method), G. Doman's intellectual program), speech therapy and exercises for the development of the vestibular apparatus (balancing boards, walking through obstacles, somersaults, etc.), classes by the BDA method (Biomechanical developmental approach is a new method that we added to the program after last year trip to Serbia). Recently, our friends provided for a time a trampoline, so that in the vestibular program of Ulyana a new exercise appeared.
In addition, since September Ulyana attends a specialized class in the Center for Correction and Rehabilitation (in the first half of the day), where she is engaged with the teacher and instructors of exercise therapy.
Recently, Ulyana has new achievements and skills:
Became more confident to use a spoon;
Improved coordination - confidently holds the balance without support on the vestibular board with strong swaying. Half a year ago Ulyana was ready to fall at the slightest fluctuations of the board;
She learned to sit on a chair and get up from the sitting position, leaning on her hands.
Of course, we want more, but we are happy with these successes, we see progress, we believe in Ulyana and her abilities and we plan to continue our work.
Recently we contacted the Serbian specialists who had previously dealt with Ulyana and trained us, and they invited us to come to the next survey and adjustment of the program in May of this year.
The next rehabilitation course is planned for 3 weeks, from 7 to 25 May, and will be held, as before, in the center of "Vukov Centar" in Novi Sad (Serbia). The program of the course includes a survey and assessment of the current state of Ulyana, adjustment of the program, classes with specialists of the Center and training of parents.
We received two separate accounts, one from the Center of Alexandra Ivancic (Vukov Centar), the second from the Center for Alternative Methods (Belgrade), whose specialists will conduct another BDA course for us in Novi Sad.
In addition, we also plan lessons with a speech therapist, the estimated cost of which will be 360 euro.
The total cost of the trip, taking into account the services of specialists, accommodation, meals and the flight Warsaw-Belgrade-Warsaw is 5100 euro.
Unfortunately, all our own funds have long been spent on previous trips and now we do not have the necessary amount. At the same time, a large amount of work is already done, we see the result, so we do not want to stop at what has been achieved. We are convinced that the main successes await Ulyana in front and are ready to do everything that depends on us so that it can realize its potential to the maximum.
In this regard, we appeal to all not indifferent people for help. A huge number of familiar and unfamiliar people have helped Ulyana over the past few years - we are grateful to you for not being left out. In the achievements of Ulyana, there is a merit of each of you.
In the current situation, each donated penny will bring us closer to the goal.
We really hope that through joint efforts we will be able to collect the necessary amount.
