Empowering Female Entrepreneurs in Uganda!

Donation protected
Dear Community!
For a couple of months now, I have been preparing for my trip to Uganda, to help develop local communities economically. I will be in a village close to Fort Portal, teaching a group of 50 local women about the basics of financial management that applies to their daily life. These women are farmers, working hard, raising children, sustaining the household, but also unfortunately overlooked by Ugandan society. Through empowering these women and teaching them how to manage their finances and be economically independent, will give them a voice in the community.
In order to create a sustainable business environment, the village need a simple banking system, which is why me, the women here and the foundation supporting me are going to create a micro-bank for the Kasenyi village! For this, we need your help to kick start the bank and the micro-loans it will be able to give out. Through them, the women can invest the money, save, and learn how to conduct sustainable business. I will be in charge of teaching them those skills through workshops. I encourage you to donate to this cause, because this is not a one time thing, volunteers have been coming here for years and helped developed the region around Fort Portal, women are empowered here, they are making a live for themselves  and it has a long lasting, sustainable effect for them, for their families, and the whole community!
Who am I? I am a graduated business master student, from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Before that, I did an undergrad in Germany and in the UK, where I did cultural studies and logistics. After working in Hong Kong in Project management, and after finishing my studies, I was ready for a new challenge and a good push out of my comfort zone. After my time in Africa, I will be starting my job at Deloitte in Amsterdam, and I hope to be able to continue this kind of volunteer work in the future. The foundation that is making all of this possible is the African Sustainable Tourism Care Foundation, they have arranged this project, are locals, and will be monitoring the success of the project.
I will be personally on site, working as a volunteer and pouring my heart and soul into this project. The impact can be so much bigger if we manage to provide more financial resources. Every penny helps! Thank you!
