UCSD Human Powered Submarine Team
Donation protected
We are UC San Diego's Human Powered Submarine Team. Our mission is to build a human powered submarine with a fin based drive chain to compete in the International Submarine Race in Bethesda, Maryland in June 2017 and possibly break a world record. Any funds we receive will be used to buy the materials needed to manufacture the submarine. Building the submarine is a student run endeavor which allows young engineers an outlet to apply the theory learned in classrooms to a real life project. Students learn computer aided design (CAD), machining, fiberglassing, networking, welding, problem solving, critical thinking and more by working with their peers to accomplish a common goal. This opportunity will provide the students with experience that will be beneficial in their future careers. Our team is extremely dedicated and will be very grateful for any funds because without your help creating our submarine would not be possible.
