medical and living expenses

In October Roderick went into septic shock and was diagnosed with endocarditis.  He went through 8 weeks of strong antibiotic treatment, given at the dialysis center 3 times a week.  The beginning of December Roderick was admited into Shelby Baptist hospital to undergo heart valve replacement surgery, after being put under and prepped for the surgery the surgeon decided to not proceed due to some concerns about his pulmonary pressure.  It was recommended that he be transfered to UAB.  After being transferred to UAB Roderick underwent aggressive dialysis to remove fluid in order to better stabalize him for the much needed surgery.  On Dec. 22 Roderick had heart valve replacement surgery, the arotic and mitral valves were replaced.  Surgery went great, however 2 days later Roderick went into septic shock again, nearly loosing his life.  He has made GREAT improvement but still faces many obstacles, some of which are caused by the side effects of medicines he was on to save his life.

Roderick has been out of work since October and although he does have FMLA/disability pay it's minimal and he was/is the provider for the family.  We are not the type to ask for handouts and have a lot of pride, but we also know we are loved by many and have been asked how help can be provided.  Although most of the medical bills are covered by insurance, it is of course a new year which means deductibles have to be met.  ANY assistance provided will be used for medical expenses and living expenses.  Again, thank you all in advance for monetary donations as well as your thoughts and prayers!
