Our community has lost an amazing man this weekend. Roy was an not only a father of three but a loving husband, son, coach and hard worker. We are never prepared for losing a loved one. The emotional challenges that this family has ahead of them will be overwhelming. Let's not let them endure financial struggles as well.
Beautiful words from his devastated wife Melissa "As I lay here tonight, with my three children, I have so many emotions going through me. Why? How can this be? Why him? Why did this have to happen? I'm now left alone to bring up our three beautiful children. Life just isn't fair. Please hold your loved ones tight and never ever fail to say I love you. You never know when that last moment will be.
He was and forever will be the love of my life. We started off as boyfriend and girlfriend when I was only 12 and he was 14. Childhood sweethearts. We have so many memories. He was such a great and caring man, friend, father and husband. Always thought of everyone else and would be the first to give the shirt off his back if need be. He loved watching our kids play their sports, watching his F1 racing, his beloved Miami Dolphins, watching "Big Joe" and Johnny Tavares, and his favorite sport..lacrosse! Lacrosse was his fave. He would say to me, "if they had it in high school when I went I would have loved to have played". He dedicated so much to lacrosse. He coached for several years and that passion grew to taking over as President of Dracut Youth Lacrosse. He did it cause he cared so much for all the kids involved. He did what he did for all of them. He would come home so many times and would tell me stories and would always say "that brought a smile to my face".
As I lay here I am just at a loss. They say time heals all wounds but I am not sure this one can ever be healed. "
