Bring Lawrence Krauss to Fairbanks

We are the UAF chapter of the Society of Physics Students. Our club is excited to announce that we will be hosting a talk by Dr. Lawrence Krauss, one of the most famous science communicators and physicists in the world.
Our club has worked extremely hard and dedicated many hours to make this a reality. In keeping with our goal of inspiring a passion for science in Fairbanks we are making Dr. Krauss' lecture free to attend. Unfortunately this means our club has had to take on a substantial amount of debt. Due to budget cuts we have had less support from the University than we expected. Therefore we are reaching out to you, as a Fairbanks community member, for support. We appreciate any donations you can make.
We believe this visit by Dr. Krauss is an amazing opportunity for Fairbanks. Dr. Krauss is the author of several best-selling books, including "The Physics of Star-Trek" and has over 290,000 Twitter followers. He is also the director of the Origins Project at Arizona State University. His newest book is going to be released at the end of March and is about how humanity has come to understand the universe, with an emphasis on the people who got us there. This will be the topic of his lecture. It is our hope that this event will inspire many people to learn more about the natural world we live in.
In addition to this talk our club also hosts many public science outreach events. We have another stargazing party planned for the end of March, at which we will set up high powered telescope for people to look through. We are working with the UAF Geophysical Institute to create a to-scale Solar System Walk. And every year we provide science fair judges to the local elementary and middle schools and run stations at the UAF Science Potpourri.
