Help for the Stokes Family

On September 27th we found out that Ron has stage 3B colon cancer. Since then he’s been hospitalized for a severe infection from the cancer perforating his bowel wall. On October 8th Ron had 2 feet of his bowel removed in the hopes that all the cancer was removed. Ron will have to do 3 months of intergraded chemotherapy and pills, at that point they will scan to see if he is cancer free. He has a lymph node that is still showing marks of cancer. We in no way planned for something like this. January 1st, we will have to start all over again with our insurance and we are looking at around $8,000 out of pocket expenses. We had hopes of purchasing a home in the spring and thought life was about to get comfortable. Now we fear for the future. We have no choice but to lean on family and friends to help us get through this. We thank you for coming alongside us and helping us through this incredibly difficult time. Thank you!
***Update**** Ron was admitted into the hospital on Christmas Eve with a high fever, chills and vomiting. 3 days later he was moved into the ICU as his body went septic and he was going into organ failure. The chemo that he was on was slowly shutting his body down. By God’s grace he pulled through and he’s been on the mend since.  Please check the update tab for more information. Thank you so much!
