Our Sonrise Christian School Glendora location opened on April 1, 2019. The very first little one that walked through our doors was Jeremiah Mills.
Jeremiah, or as we call him, Jer Bear, is a curious, energetic, loving little boy and will often run up to other parents as they drop off or pick up for a leg hug. He is everybody's friend, but is a fearless explorer who has inspected every inch of our playground.
He has his favorite things to do like, running down the preschool ramp and exploring the garden where we often find "Jeremiahbites" out of the unripe strawberries . By far his favorite thing to do though is sing and play "Circus Circus" where we sing a song and then each child takes a turn doing their own circus act. Any time we want Jeremiah to do something we would always get the best results by offering that activity
Tragically, on Saturday, July 6, 2019, while at a friends, Jeremiah drowned. He is now in critical condition at Loma Linda University Medical Center in the pediatric ICU. His mom, Alex, and dad, Danny have of course not left his side, not to mention all the family and friends, that are surrounding them. The doctors and medical team are working tirelessly to try and revive our sweet boy and while we know that will help, the ultimate healer is Jesus!
When a child is enrolled at Sonrise we always say, "welcome to the family" and we mean it. Families stick together in good times and in bad and this situation is no exception. This in fact provides us with an opportunity to BE Jesus to one of our own.
We are asking for donations for the Mills family that will help with loss of work, medical costs and any other unforeseen expenses. Please give as you feel led and let's show Jeremiah and his parents what family truly means at Sonrise.
