Hi everyone, my name is Gilma Patrícia Castillo and the person on the picture is my husband and two of my younger kids Elliot and Juan.
my husband is only 38 years of age and back on February 22nd he was diagnosed with a type of cancer called None-Hodgkin Lymphoma and of course this go a little further back two weeks before he was diagnosed, he started getting fevers every afternoon and for what he told me sometimes during the day at work and he was also coughing a lot, as I said this went on for at least two weeks, within that time he had told me about a little node/bump he felt on the left side of his neck which got me worried, therefore I setup a doctor’s appointment but unfortunately we missed it.
two weeks later his neck was already swollen since within the two weeks back I’ve mentioned before February 22nd, he told me as the days went by that his neck was getting swollen like every other day.
On February 22nd he went to work but because that day he has to drive a standup forklift and to do so he had to pull pallets down or and put them back up, the swelling on his neck was not allowing him to perform accordingly so he told his immediate supervisor everything and as if she knew told him as per what my husband said, “go see a doctor now, DO NOT even go home but go straight to the doctor” and of course because we only have a minivan that runs because our secondary vehicle which is a car, that doesn’t run, I have been driving him to work and as well home after work for long time now since I need the van to drive our kids to school and doctor’s appointments, you all parents may well know how that goes.
He texted me to pick him up and to take him to the doctor which I did and that is how and when we found out he has cancer stage 2.
THE REASON
The only reason I created this page is because he was our main financial support because I don’t have a job which I am looking for now, but since we have four children I couldn’t go to work because of how expensive daycare and babysitters are, my husband and I agreed that I would stay home to take care of our kids and that house and he would go to work which he has done pretty good since we’ve been together for 16 years until February 22nd due to his doctors orders, and that has been a little over a month now that he has been able to work, I on the other hand have and still am looking for a job because even though I do have and small source of income which has been some support to my husband so he would have to take care of all of our finances, that is not enough and until he gets better which we are very positive he will and go back to work which is still to be determined by his oncologist doctor, after the chemotherapy starts which will be this coming Tuesday March 26th.
