Help Anna Recover From Surgery

Donation protected
Introduction:

Thank you for taking the time to look at my call for support. Your contribution means more than words can express.

September 5, 2017 I am scheduled to undergo Final Stage Gender Reassignment Surgery. The journey has been long, and there have been many obstacles that have had to be overcome to get to this moment. From discrimination by employers to difficulties in the world of dating. Despite the challenges and adversity, I am proud of who I am and for what I have accomplished. This begins not only a new chapter, but a new book in my life. Finally, I will physically reflect what is my heart, soul, and mind.

Upon completion of surgery I will be recovering at home for a period of 6-8 weeks. During my initial recovery period I will be unable to work or perform regular daily activities. Once the initial at recovery period is completed, there will be on going maintenance to ensure a full and successful end result for the first year following surgery.

As a result of loosing my main source of income for a substantial amount of time, it will create a significant amount of stress and anxiety about covering essential living costs until able to return back to work and start back towards launching my own company, and working Full Time.  Added stress and anxiety is surprisingly not conducive to successfully recovering from any major surgery.

My main concerns are:

-Rent
-Medication
-Groceries
-Transportation
-Misc. (Emergencies, etc.)

It is an ambitious goal I have put forth. I feel ashamed and embarrassed for having to reach out for support. However, when looking ahead I had not anticipated being without benefits such as Short/Long Term Disability, or having my income reduced significantly due to only working Part Time. We live and we learn.

I truly am at a loss of options. My hope is that the kindness of strangers will come to my aide and assist in taking some of the stress off of my recovery. I'm not asking for people to understand  what it means to be Transgender, but rather have a capacity to express compassion and empathy towards someone who is recovering from a major and life changing operation.

Every contribution helps and makes a significant difference!

Support From Family & Friends:

I have had a tremendous amount of support from my Grandmother since I began transitioning 6 years ago, and throughout my life for that matter. She has provided emotional, physical, and financial support whenever I have needed it. However, my Grandmother is getting older and should be enjoying retirement instead of worrying about her granddaughter during times such as these.

As for my parents, well in a lot of ways they washed their hands of me a long time ago. My mother is too enthralled with her own personal issues which include a battle with Anorexia, and my father unfortunately is unaccepting towards the situation. I have come to terms with who they are and as much as it breaks my heart and I wish the situation were different, it's not.

Other friends and family members who support me in my transition have donated if they can, and others just may be unable to provide support during my recovery.

Conclusion:

I want to express my utmost gratitude and thanks! Going through something like this alone can be terrifying and I truly appreciate any and all support! I also welcome anyone with questions or wanting more information to reach out! I will be having a lot of time on my hands to fill and would love to correspond with anyone interested.

From the bottom of my heart, your support means more than I will ever be able to express!
