<div>On 4-20-26, approximately 6:45 pm, I was heading home from work in Lincoln, Illinois, when a man ran through a stop sign and slammed into my car. I have been left with a broken back at my L1 vertebra, a broken sternum, and 2 broken ribs (8th and 9th ribs). I'm now in a back brace I have to wear 24/7 for the next 3 months at least. I don't know yet if I'm gonna require surgery or not. But today, my manager position was taken away from me.

<div>My car was a total loss and wasn't worth as much as I still owed on it, so I'm now without a car. The sales position I was offered to stay with my company is in Springfield, which I can't get to without a car, nor am I able to drive right now. I can't get unemployment because I was offered a position somewhere else, and I can't get disability because they don't know for a fact I'll be unable to work for a year. <strong>I'm just in a horrible situation all because someone ran a stop sign, and now my life is crumbling down around me!!</strong>

In a matter of moments, our children went from having their dad with them every day to asking why he hasn’t come home. They are confused, heartbroken, and struggling to understand how their world changed so suddenly.

<div>He is a loving, hands-on father who has always put his children first. He helps with homework, makes them laugh, and comforts them when they’re scared. He is their protector, their safe place, and their biggest source of stability. Watching them cry for their dad and not knowing when—or if—they’ll see him again has been devastating.

<div>We are doing everything we can to fight for him to come home, but the cost of an experienced immigration attorney is more than we can afford on our own. Legal representation is critical in cases like this, and without it, our family’s chances are greatly diminished.

Help Bring Their Father Home

<div>Hello all. It is with great sadness and heavy heart to share the VERY sudden loss of our mother, wife, grandmother, sister &amp; dear friend to many, Rayma Carol Vanmeter-VanScyoc.

<div>God called her home the morning of November 10, 2024.

<div>with all the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it can also bring financial burdens. We would like to raise money for Raymas family and children to help with the expenses this brings. As it was so sudden, there were no arrangements made.

<div>Raymas final wishes were to be cremated and then buried in her loving husbands Seth’s arms when his time comes for final resting.
</div>
<div>we will use any extra money after her cremation that is raised from this to have a celebration of life in honor of Rayma.

<div>It is in times of sadness and loss when people can come together and help one another make it through. Any support you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated, even if it’s just a prayer. This is such a hard loss for many.

Honor Rayma's Memory: Bring Support For Her Family

<div>UPDATE: Services for Graydon will be at Schillings Funeral Home, Mattoon, Illinois. Visitation\Services honoring his life will be 4PM to 7PM 7/29/24, funeral to follow on 7/30/24  10AM.  Many are wearing blue, for this was Graydon's favorite color. Contributions from loving grandparents, family, amazing friends and this wonderful community, has provided enough funds to fully cover all expenses related to this tragedy. The words THANK YOU isn't enough to show the gratitude of Graydon's family. GOD bless you all for being so generous and thoughtful.

<div> My name is Charlene "Rene" Rawski, I am asking from the bottom of my heart for financial assistance from the community, to help lay Graydon Mendenhall (14) of Neoga to rest. His life was ended today tragically in a four wheeler accident. Mother Heather "Bell" Birdwell and step father Craig Birdwell, brother Sidney Mendenhall (17) were not prepared monetarily for a moment such as this. Graydon was such a happy, loving and caring young man. If you can find it in your hearts to donate or to say a prayer to help this family in this difficulties time, I would deeply appreciate it. Arrangements yet to be made via Schillings Funeral Home, Mattoon. All donations will be paid to Heather for Graydons burial expenses. I will keep updating as more information is obtained.
