Hey I am Samantha creating this for my best friend Kristen Davis and her hubby Chris Davis. Imagine finding out you're having twins, and 2 weeks later you have
an emergency C-section..This is their story...
As hard as it is for them to be open to this and to share their story they really need some aid right now.
They have recently faced an unexpected and challenging situation.
Kristen was pregnant and in midwifery care planning a second natural home birth. Due to unexpected circumstances she didn't get an ultrasound until 28 weeks.
She found at the scan that she was having twins and quickly everything they had planned for her home birth came crashing down.
As her midwife had to refer her out of her care due to the potential complications of a twin birth. (Multiple babies require multiple midwives, in her location it was hard enough to find a midwife who would even offer services of home births.)
After finding out about the twins at 28 weeks pregnant the past 2 weeks have been spent finding an OB to accept her. They had to travel to Colombia Mo to have a scan and be referred to a local OB. Chris has had to miss quite a bit of work and he is the sole provider for their family as they have 3 other children.
She had her first OB appointment on Tuesday 4/21/26. What was suppose to be a check up quickly changed.
Tuesday she was admitted an had an unexpected emergency c-section. (Again they just found out about baby girl 2 weeks ago)
Thankfully, she delivered two beautiful twins a boy and a girl, but because they arrived so early, they now have a long road ahead of them in the NICU.
Kristen is doing her best to recover from surgery while also making the two-hour round trip to the hospital to deliver breast milk and spend precious time bonding with her babies.
Due to NICU restrictions, her other children are unable to visit, which makes this time even more difficult for the whole family.
Kristen and her partner, Chris, are facing travel expenses, costs for the infants as they were still preparing for the arrival of baby, and the added stress of Chris missing work to support Kristen and the twins. The emotional and physical toll is immense, and they could use a helping hand from their community.
We are reaching out to ask for your support in lightening the load for Kristen's family during this difficult journey. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference as they work toward bringing their twins home. Thank you for considering helping this wonderful family in their time of need.
Kristen has provided her baby registry if anyone would like to directly purchase for the babies and her postpartum recovery. Anything helps big or small, or a share. We are grateful.

-Update- Babies are progressing well, they are slowly reducing the need for full oxygen so that is great!
