My name is John Achenbach, and I'm a single parent from Harrisburg, PA. For over 11 years, I've had full custody of my son and worked hard to provide for us. Life was stable until a year ago, when a severe infection in my left foot changed everything. I spent 4 weeks in the hospital, underwent surgery to remove part of my foot and a toe, and lost my ability to work. The medical crisis led to losing my apartment and car, and I've been fighting for disability benefits ever since. Without a car, it's been nearly impossible to get around or find new work. My health challenges have made daily life a struggle, and I recently faced another hospital stay due to a new infection on same foot. Despite these setbacks, I'm determined to rebuild for myself and my son. A reliable car and some help with living expenses would give us the boost we need to move forward.
