Eva, also known as Evangeline, came into my life on December 22, 2022, and it was love at first sight. Born on October 1, 2021, she quickly became my constant companion and source of comfort, especially as I navigate life with PTSD and a traumatic head injury. Our bond grew stronger every day, and I made sure she was always cared for, even when my work as a fisherman kept me away. I had seven trusted dog walkers on call, and my elderly father had a list of people to help with Eva whenever I couldn't be there myself. 
 
 
 Eva is about 76 pounds and looks just like a tiny German Shepherd, though she is a mix with adorable floppy ears. One of her most unique features is a white marking on her chest that looks just like a butterfly, making her easy to identify. She is incredibly friendly and has always been a bright spot in my life. 
 
 
 Everything changed in February/March 2025 when I was in an accident and away from home for treatment. During that vulnerable time, someone took Eva without my permission. She was never neglected or abandoned—her well-being was always my top priority, and I have several letters to back this up. As her sole owner, only I have the right to make decisions about her care, and the pain of not knowing where she is has been overwhelming. I can't sleep or function properly, and I worry about her every moment of the day. 
 
 
 I'm reaching out for help because legal fees and private investigators are expensive, and as a seasonal worker, this is my downtime. Every dollar raised will go directly toward bringing Eva home. If there are any funds left after covering these costs, they will be donated to Missing Dogs of Massachusetts to help other families facing similar heartbreak.
