- Founder of Afrikana Community Center in Louisville, Kentucky. This empty space has the potential to change lives. My name is Aweys Ali, and I am leading a community project in Louisville, Kentucky to support African families, refugees, and underserved communities. In our city, many families are struggling—not because they lack strength, but because they lack access to the right support, resources, and safe spaces. Youth need mentorship. Families need guidance. Many people feel isolated with nowhere to turn. We want to change that. We are building the Afrikana Community Center—a welcoming space where people from all backgrounds can come together, find support, and grow. Our Mission To support families, uplift youth, and build a stronger, united community. What This Center Will Provide • Youth mentorship and after-school programs • English classes and job readiness support • Family support and resource connections • Cultural and community events • A safe and welcoming environment for everyone ⚠️ The Need Is Real Many families in our community face: • Language barriers • Isolation • Limited access to opportunities Our youth need direction. Our families need support. Our community needs a place to come together. How Your Donation Helps Your support will allow us to: • Launch our first programs • Secure and prepare a community space • Provide resources for children and families Every contribution makes a real impact: $25 — Provides school supplies for a child $50 — Supports English and job readiness classes $100 — Helps support a family in need This is more than just a space—it’s hope for our community. Our Immediate Goal We are working to raise $8,000 as soon as possible so we can begin immediately—securing a space and launching our first programs. Our Vision Our vision is to build a lasting community center in Louisville where families, youth, and individuals can find support, opportunity, and a true sense of belonging. We aim to create a space that continues to grow—offering programs, guidance, and resources for years to come. To fully establish and expand this vision, our total goal is $15,000. Afrikana Hope Initiative As part of our mission, we are launching the Afrikana Hope Initiative—a program dedicated to supporting vulnerable African families both locally and globally. Through this initiative, we aim to: Provide food assistance to families in need Connect families to emergency support during crises Distribute essential resources such as clothing, hygiene items, and school supplies Many families arrive with little to no support. Afrikana Hope is our commitment to ensuring they are not alone. Every donation helps us build this initiative and expand our impact. Every donation—no matter how small—makes a real difference. Please donate and share this campaign If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser can help us reach someone who can. Afrikana Community Center Inc. is currently in the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Thank you for your support. God bless you, and God bless our city of Louisville.
