Willie has always had a passion for boxing, starting from the age of five. Although he didn’t get the opportunity to box until he was sixteen, he went on to fight professionally for a year. His business savvy and love for fighters led him to develop a passion for promotion, and now he wants to give back to his community in Atlanta. Willie believes a free boxing program is much needed, as every gym in the area charges a fee that many families can’t afford. His vision is to create a nonprofit facility where underprivileged youth can learn not only boxing, but also social skills, life skills, and other important aspects of life. He wants to help kids get outside, play, and grow in a safe and supportive environment.
Recently, while working a regular job, Willie met a young man who shares his passion for boxing. They will begin training next week, but Willie has no money or training facilities to support the influx of kids he expects once word spreads. He plans to start training in the park, hoping to raise enough capital to secure a group membership at a local boxing gym when the time comes. The funds raised will go toward securing gym memberships and purchasing essential equipment such as mouth guards, head gear, gloves, jump ropes, hand wraps, first aid kits, and boxing timers. These materials are crucial for providing safe and effective training for the kids.
As a product of a single family household raised by his mother, Willie understands how hard it is to raise a child. He is offering a safe haven where kids can learn self-defense and valuable life skills. Willie is asking for donations to help the community provide a free space for kids to learn discipline and channel their energy in positive ways. He urges everyone to come together as a community to prepare and shape the future for young men, rather than simply hoping for change. Your support can help make this dream a reality and give Atlanta’s youth a place to grow, learn, and thrive.
