Help Me Keep My Home

I need to raise $6,000.00 to pay this year's property tax.
I missed the deadline and each month I delay there is a late fee of $80.00 to $100.00 added on.
I own my house but I had to borrow a lot of money to keep it when I got divorced in 2004. It's my home and I didn't want to leave.
I am retired and on a fixed income (social security and pension). My expenses, like taxes, might go up $100.00 a month while my income might go up $10.00 a month. Health insurance is my biggest expense and then come taxes and mortgage. I haven't been able to keep up, and I've had some unexpected expenses the past year. I just couldn't come up with $6,000.00 right now. I sure don't want to run up so much debt and delinquent taxes that I'd lose my home. I'm on food stamps so at least I'm not starving.
I still haven't recovered from being on chemotherapy a couple years ago. I had surgery to remove cancer from my intestine and liver and then was on chemo, and it just devastates you. Luckily I have had clean scans the past year, though. I still have peripheral neuropathy and anxiety attacks that last several days or weeks, left over side effects from chemo. The meds I've been prescribed for these don't help much. The doctors say it will go away eventually, but meanwhile I have trouble just moving around and getting through the day, and I end up spending money on things I normally wouldn't. For example, I have a lot of doctor appointments and I've been taking cabs instead of taking the bus or walking like I used to. It adds up...
The taxes go for a good cause, though. The Madison public schools get money from property taxes. So I want to do my share and contribute.
I need your help in paying my property tax. Anything will help.
