Fantasy Elite Designs is a couture boutique owned and operated by wife and mother of two, Beth Anne. I specialize in haute couture gowns, ready to wear dresses, masks, headpieces and life size wings. Nearly a year ago I found my niche in designing for photographers. Most people don’t know what that means so let me explain, I design and create elaborate gowns and crafty accessories for high fashion and conceptual photo shoots. Last year I was planning a photo shoot when I made an unlikely connection with the owner of a New York modelling agency, Deborah Cardona.
In December 2014 Deborah invited me to showcase my collections in the Spread Your Wings Fashion Show in New York! I made 40 gowns and dresses for the show, 30 masks and a couple headpieces. The show took place April 11th and had overwhelmingly positive reviews marking a major turning point for my business. In the last 6 weeks my gowns have been booked for two more fashion shows in New York, the Fashion Against Cancer Fashion Show in Edmonton and used for promo and filming for a upcoming MTV reality tv show in New York. I also had a photographer and two models join me from Airdrie and Calgary for the trip to New York where we spent two days doing photo shoots across New York. We have since been accepted for publications in two New York Magazines and anticipate the same for several in Canada.
I am on the brink of making a permanent foothold as an international designer with a strong potential to be in Western Canada Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week this September as well as Paris Fashion Week in 2016. My goal is to showcase my work in these fashion shows because they have international buyers in the audience. A buyer is a retail business owner (or delegate) who chooses several designs from a collection to sell in their boutiques. When my designs are purchased by a ‘buyer’ they will be sold in stores internationally.
With your donations I will create jobs within Alberta when I hire seamstresses to train in each division of my business. I will revive the art of what is considered a ‘domestic skill’ and put Alberta, (and Canada) on the map as the home base for an internationally recognized designer. The bigger my business and brand grow the more I will be able to put back into Alberta. Also, I am passionate about raising awareness for a fatal strain of childhood cancer called DIPG. Once I reach a point of financial security in my business I will host a annual fundraiser fashion show to support the research for a cure and support the families who are affected by this aweful cancer.

- Hiring employees in Alberta
-Buying couture fabrics as I cannot expect to be considered a couture designer when I can’t afford any fabrics that cost more than $10/yard. The fabric I would like to make my gowns from cost anything from $30 to $400 Per Yard! Depending on the design I use 2-7 yards to build a gown. A collection typically consists of 12-20 gowns. Thats roughly $5,000-$10,000 needed to build a collection!
-Shipping costs internationally. The trip to New York cost nearly $2500 in shipping fees and another $1000 in brokerage fees to get my garments and crafts there and back.
-Start up costs for the first DIPG fashion show fundraiser
I am SO close to making a huge statement in the fashion industry and full filling a life long dream! I need your help to accomplish these goals!!
