TX Capitol Walkout for Gun Safety

We, the students of the greater Austin area in Texas, are hoping to participate in the nationwide walkout on April 20th, the anniversary of Columbine.  The TX Capitol Walkout is a walkout, march, and rally designed to bring together students, school teachers and staff, parents, and the general public, in support of gun law reform.  We have an end goal of sending a message to our elected leaders that we refuse to continue to stand by complacently as innocent lives are lost because of the state of gun violence in our nation.  We invite you to join us, to make your voice heard, and to protect the youth of America, both present and future.  

We need to fundraise in order to provide water, transportation, and ribbons for people who want to participate in the walkout and attend the rally.  We also need to raise funds for city permits, electricity, portable toilets, and equipment rental.  We have the support of superintendents, legislature, parents, and celebrities.

I am Cecilia Cosby, a chair person on the committee that is organizing this event.  I am managing our fundraising effort, and organizing transportation for several high schools.   The Go Fund Me account is linked to my personal account.  I will be responsible for distributing the funds to our organizers and providers. 

All funds will will be distributed by me.  All funds will be used for the purchase or rental of services that are directly related to the event.    All of the organizers are volunteering their time.
