Sometimes life throws you lemons... Brad and Marissa have been dealt far more than most couples could handle... Brad has muscular dystrophy and has incredible strength and determination, he was expected to be wheel chair bound by the age of 20 but at 40 he still manages to get around although it is very challenging and makes it impossible to work... Marissa works to take care of their family and Brad runs a charity to raise funds for Muscular dystrophy through Laps for MD...
Sadly when Brad and Marissa decided to start their family they were faced with miscarriages and very devastatingly they lost two daughters to still birth, it was then that Marissa was diagnosed with a rare blood clotting syndrome called APS...
recently Marissa suffered a fall on her way to work and broke her ankle, it was so bad that she required surgery... the condition APS has reared its ugly head and caused a stroke and left Marissa unable to walk and unable to work....
Marissa and Brad need to focus on her healing and recovery, with Brad being on disability and Marissa being the sole full time worker this has left them in a very tough spot financially...
