Hello! My name is Paige, and I am hoping to raise funds in order to set up my first Massage Therapy Treatment Room!
You see, I dream about becoming a great massage therapist. It's a dream I've had since I was a kid, embarassing my parents by declaring loudly at church dinners that I was going to massage people for a living. Years later, I'm working hard toward this goal, researching, learning and practising all I can. I'm training with a master at the profession, I'm taking courses in reflexology and phsyiotherapy. I've been blessed with warm hands (essential in a massage therapist!) and a desire to use them to heal.
Massage Therapy is so much more than just rubbing someone's back. It's using touch and pressure to soothe pain, smooth knots and kinks and encourage the body to move and/or to heal. Massage can increase mobility and flexibility, help lessen chronic pain and generally increase your sense of well-being.
However, a massage is only as good as the environment in which you are recieving it and right now I'm giving them in our living room. It's okay, if you don't mind cats jumping up on the table or the sound of rabbits drinking noisily from their water bottles whilst you're trying to relax, but let's face it - it's not ideal.
I would like to turn our spare bedroom into a haven where I can give deeply healing massages in a peaceful environment conducive to relaxation. The funding I'm looking for will pay for three months' worth of private storage for the bed and other large items currently being stored in the room, cover the cost of decorating and assist me in purchasing a store of supplies, including towels, oils and materials.
I would be so very grateful for even the smallest contributions, as our finances are restricted right now and without help, my treatment room will remain a distant dream. I would of course express this appreciation in the best way I know how - a free treatment and my deepest gratitude!
