The Turtle Project

Donation protected
The Turtle Project is a charity drive that seeks to benefit the >6,000 men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in the Aurora/Denver area. The Turtle Project collects new or gently used bags like backpacks and purses, and fills them with essential items like toiletries, feminine hygiene products, hats/socks/gloves, and flashlights. Working in partnership with Comitis Crisis Center, the only brick and mortar homeless shelter in Aurora, CO, the assembled bags are distributed to shelter residents as well as through their street outreach program.

In 2015, 98 bags were donated.
In 2016, 288 bags were donated.
For 2017, our goal is to donate 350 bags.

You can help!

Physical donations are collected at the University of Colorado Denver - Anschutz Medical Campus. However, we frequently run out of things like warm socks, deodorant, and flashlights, resulting in some backpacks unfortunately being handed out without these important items. Contributions to this Gofundme account will be used to purchase these items in bulk, to ensure that no backpack is incomplete.

Thanks for your time, and thanks for caring!
