Turkey Day: New Armando Muñoz Novel

Welcome back, horror fans and aficionados of frightful literature. It's a new year and I have new fears to share, and I've created a new campaign to help launch it to the world. Let me give some back story on this new nightmare, and how you can help to bring it to life.

Who I Am
Since the year 2000, I have been releasing short horror films on the film festival circuit, including the award winning titles Pervula, The Killer Krapper, and Mime After Midnight. The diverse festivals I've screened at include Tromadance, Shriekfest Film Festival, Elvira's Horror Hunt (WTF! Award Winner), Sick Puppy Film Festival (Best of Show), Fearless Tales Genre Fest (Jury Prize Winner), Dark Carnival Film Festival, Lost Film Fest, Newfest, Outfest, South African Horrorfest, and many more. Screening venues have included CBGBs in New York, Seattle's Cinerama Dome, the historic Hollywood Theatre in Portland, and the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles. An interview in which I discuss my films and style of horror was featured in the book Out in the Dark: Interviews with Gay Horror Filmmakers, Actors and Authors, a collection of Sean Abley's Gay of the Dead interviews for Fangoria.com.
In 2015, after years of secretly writing prose, I decided to self-publish my first novel, titled Hoarder. Last summer I created my first GoFundMe campaign to assist in the initial printing and advertising costs for Hoarder, and I feel it was a successful campaign and book launch. I could not have done it so well without GoFundMe and everyone's support.
The reviews of Hoarder so far have been stellar from readers and critics alike, and include the following.

My New Novel
Turkey Day - It's a great day for carving!
My second novel, Turkey Day, is a longer, more ambitious, and more terrifying work than Hoarder. The synopsis for this book will be coming soon, but I will reveal that it is a horror story set entirely on the title date of Thanksgiving, and concerns a family that is served shocking murders along with a home cooked turkey by an unwanted guest at the feast. Blood and gravy will be spilled. Will anyone survive through dinner?
The Turkey Day book cover is designed by Kevin Mangold, who did a stellar job on the Hoarder book cover. This cover hints at the horrors to come and helps convey the fear and flavor of the season and story.
Unlike Hoarder, where the evil title character was revealed early on, Turkey Day is structured as a murder mystery, and hopefully the identity of the individual serving death will be a satisfying and shocking surprise to readers. I also strive to turn that most benign of holidays, Thanksgiving, into a date of doom and horror to rival Halloween and Friday the 13th.
Even though both of my books are rooted in reality, Hoarder is structured like a classic fairy tale, while Turkey Day has a story ripped right out of today's most terrifying headlines. I'm dealing with more serious issues this time, like hate crimes, discrimination, and murder sprees, and where the roots of modern violence are planted. My voice and tone are more serious and angry in this book as I explore the horrors that outrage us all. At the same time, I aim to deliver this in very entertaining fashion, of course!
My New GoFundMe Campaign
As I did last summer for my debut novel Hoarder, I have created this GoFundMe campaign to aid in the initial self publishing and advertising costs for my new novel. For my Hoarder campaign, I did not reach my total goal, so I have lowered my total amount this time. Regardless of my total last time, every donation was incredibly helpful in getting the book out and seen enough to get visibility and start word of mouth. Hoarder is not a bestselling title, yet, but it did reach the #1 spot for paperback fiction at the esteemed horror bookstore Dark Delicacies in Burbank this past February.
For my new novel Turkey Day, I'm campaigning to raise $2,500 to help with the costs of a first printing of the physical book, which I intend to send to as many reviewers as possible and get into some specialty independent bookstores, and for advertising costs. I aim to advertise Turkey Day in the best horror publications and websites, to best reach my target audience. The number of books that I can get for the first printing will depend on how much I can raise with this campaign.
As incentives, I want to offer more of my films on DVD and Blu Ray, two which I did not offer for my last campaign (Mime After Midnight and The Terrible Old Tran), along with book perks, including Turkey Day once it is printed and released in late summer. Those who donate will receive the first printing. Shipping will be included.
