Since moving in the Wallaceburg shelter last December we have been observing our dogs as they run in the fenced in area to spend their cooped-up energy.
Though cleaning is a breeze thanks to it, the concrete pad stretches to cover 100% of the runs which creates two problems.
The first one is that the dogs are not comfortable doing their business on the concrete and look for any type of other surface in vain. At the moment they are choosing to relieve themselves on a little patch of snow that we left for them.
The second issue, and in our opinion, the biggest issue is that running on concrete will do a number on their paws and some will have nails so short that they will start to bleed.
We would like to incorporate a couple of artificial turf matts to alleviate these issues and give our dogs a much nicer time when playing outside.
Any help is appreciated and all donations over $20 are eligible for a tax receipt.
