Tsunami Relief in Palu, Indonesia

So far there have been 832 confirmed deaths but that number is expected to rise in the next week. UPDATE: As of Oct 4, there are 1,531 confirmed deaths. 2,549 are severely injured, and 113 are missing.
As someone who spent the first 18 years of my life in Indonesia, I've felt strongly that I am to go and do what I can in Palu, Sulawesi in the wake of this disaster. I have been contacting local organizations and expat workers to partner with for the next few weeks. I am hoping to help in translation services with partnered organizations or in any other way I can.
This afternoon someone offered to buy my tickets to Indonesia for Oct 6-21. God has made his will so clear in the way he has provided these necessary parts for the journey from the most unexpected sources. In a few hours He's provided me with flights and a place to stay. I know he will continue to care for me moving forward.
I want to give you all the opportunity to help in the relief effort alongside me. Please pray for the victims and the relief workers on the ground. I would like to be able to go with additional funds to provide people with more resources. Having heard from individuals on the ground in Palu, there has been a serious lack of food and people have resorted to looting. Please consider donating so that I have the necessary funds to help in whatever ways are necessary there. I'll make sure that families and individuals I come in contact with are directly blessed through your generousity. Money will be distributed on a case by case basis but I'm hoping to be able to provide families with something to get back on their feet again.
