911 Dispatcher Derrick needs us

Derrick Erickson, age 23, currently lies in the ICU in Phoenix fighting for his life with a ventilator helping him breath. His family and wife are by his side, this is how they spent their 1st wedding anniversary. A lung transplant will be needed to help him in his fight and he is currently waiting to be transfered to Tucson for further testing and approval to be placed on the recipient list.

Derrick began his career as a EMS dispatcher for a local fire and ambulance company with his older sister and is where he met his now wife Kim. After several years as an EMS dispatcher he transitioned into police dispatch for the City of Phoenix. Derrick is just one month short of his 1 year probation with the city and will most likely not qualify for long term disability or FMLA.

Derrick's wife Kim lost her dad, Ricky Pearce, at the age of 4. He died in the line of duty while service the City of Phoenix as a firefighter. She now faces the reality of losing her husband.

Derrick is a private person and doesnt share with many that he has cystic fibrosis. Right now Kim is taking time from work to be with him and her paid time off is gone. They need our help, they didnt ask, they dont have to. This is an automatic in EMS community you step up so bills can get paid. We picked a random number and will adjust as needed.
