Trooper Berke Bates Charity Game

Donation protected
The Ice Vols will be traveling to play against the University of Richmond on Friday September 15th for a charity game that will honor Trooper Berke Bates. Trooper Berke Bates was recently killed in a helicopter accident during the events that took place in Charlottesville in August. Trooper Berke Bates attended The University of Tennessee and played for the Ice Vols. Trooper Berke Bates loved the game of hockey and was a youth hockey coach in the Richmond, Virginia area.

The University of Tennessee Ice Vols and the University of Richmond Spiders club hockey teams will face off Friday September 15th 8pm at the Richmond Ice Zone to honor Trooper Berke Bates. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 and all proceeds will go towards the family of Berke Bates. In addition, a GoFundme account will be set up to help support the family of Berke Bates. We hope to have Berke’s brother, Craig Bates, or another family member or close friend drop an honorary puck to begin the game.

We hope to draw a large crowd in support of Trooper Berke Bates and his family.
