Trolley Buggy, Phoebe's legacy

Donation protected
Hi all

This is my story which explains why I am raising money to create a legacy for my late daughter Phoebe. Ten years ago on the 24th August, I gave birth to my beautiful, Down Syndrome daughter. I was full of joy on that day until Phoebe started to become sick. She had many tests which came back to tell us that she had a bowel problem and holes in her heart. Phoebe needed to have surgery on her bowel immediately, so she was sent to John Radcliffe Children's Hospital, where at 10 days old she had a successful operation to correct the problem.

After her operation she returned to Milton Keynes Hospital, where at 3 weeks old the holes in her heart became a problem. She was on medication until she had heart surgery at the age of one in Great Ormond Street Hospital to close the holes. It was so hard for me as she spent the first 6 weeks of her life in hospital and didn’t get any easier when she came home. Phoebe had to be tube fed as a baby which meant that we weren’t easily able to leave the house.

Although we took great joy in getting out to the shops it also came with many complications including Phoebe being unable to sit in a shopping trolley. From these struggles I came up with the idea of Trolley Buggy Connectors, which makes it possible to push a trolley and your pram / buggies together and has become Phoebe’s legacy.

My world was torn apart on the 24th of September 2010 when Phoebe passed away. I love Phoebe with all my heart and always will. I found it so hard after she died as no one would talk about her, almost like she was never there. I channelled my grief from Phoebe’s death into making a unique product, Trolley Buggy Connectors. This product is a device that you can attach onto your pram / buggy and onto a shopping trolley so you can push them together as one. Although my life will never be the same creating this legacy to her has helped me to deal with the pain and I hope out of the struggles I had with Phoebe we can help other parents who face the same problems. This year has been even harder for me, as not only would have been Phoebe 10th birthday, but I have also  lost my father in March and my Mother in September as well. I know my Dad and Mum would have wanted to see Trolley Buggy Phoebe’s legacy continue.

I desperately need your help, as I have a lot of other problems in my life, which has caused me great financial hardship. The only way forward is to raise the money is from your kind donations. Please do continue to donate to help support me in creating and continuing Phoebe’s legacy.

Thanks Wendy
