Many of you are aware of the torment my niece and her children have gone through since September 14th. Her husband left home that evening at 6pm and never came home. Unfortunately, four weeks from when he left, this past Saturday, John was found deceased in his vehicle from suicide. John had been through so many health issues, from a recent stroke, cancer testing and chronic problems with pulmonary embolisms from a blood clotting disorder resulting in multiple hospital stays that it became overwhelming for him. When he became behind in his work because of this, it apparently all became too much for him. He was the dad to four daughters, one son, one grandson and one grandbaby on the way. He and Trish were self-employed and owned and operated "Samco", a business they started and built together tailoring off from the family business of band and instrument repair. They were well known and respected in the industry. Together their livelihood was based on the gift of music. John was the main man, often referred to as the "magic man"...a man that was destined to save instruments that were often deemed beyond repair and his capability exceeded that demand and he was more than successful at making those instruments perfect. His talent will never be replaced. Trish was the sales coordinator and office manager. She was on the road daily delivering instruments to schools as far as Albany or Syracuse and together they had multiple school contracts and were known for their professionalism and workmanship. Together they built this successful business, all the while focusing on their family and keeping up in the community. Trish is a scentsy consultant and donated most of her profits to the community. There wasn't a fundraiser or benefit that was around that you didn't see something that she had given for that event. Trish was very involved in the relay for life and has been a member of that event for years. They are a loving and giving family that the community was blessed to have. Now it is our turn to help them. Although we can never replace John or remove the pain that has come from this nightmare, we can help alleviate some of the burden from Trish financially. With no life insurance, she was not prepared for funeral costs for her husband. While he has been gone for over four weeks, there has been no income generated for her family and she spent all of her efforts searching for her husband. They have a young daughter who is in middle school along with older children. As her family, we are asking for help for this sweet woman who has had her life shattered.
