Help save our church

Trinity Episcopal Church has been a part of the landscape of downtown Newark, Ohio for nearly two centuries. The people and the structure of Trinity have served and celebrated with our community for generations. Our structure that has been the center of celebrations and reflections for thousands is now in desperate need of repair. Time has taken its toll and the deterioration to the supporting structure of our roof has made the Sanctuary unsafe for gatherings and worshipping.
This shows a tempoary beam with cables holding up the Superstructure of the roof.
This shows the center of the Sanctuary ceiling with turnbuckles and cables attached to 4 tempoary beams keeping the superstructure of the roof from collapse.
This shows the tail ends of the rafters where they rest on the wall plate. You can see the rotting of the rafter tails and the deterioration of the plate.
Cables keeping the roof together.
The West wall is being pushed outward by the tail end of some of the roof rafters due to rotting and sagging of the superstructure.
We have moved out of our beautiful Sanctuary and are now worshiping in our Auditorium. The Auditorium is safe for now but has its own issues that will have to be addressed when we move back into the Sanctuary.
