Trinity County K9 Fund

This GoFundMe was started to raise monies for the Trinity County, CA Sheriffs Department to replace it's two K9 Officers, one of which passed away from an illness in early August (K9 'Kash', above). The remaining K9 Officer (Johnny) is now ill and will not be reassigned if he recovers.
These K9 Officers are absolutely essential to the mission of this underfunded county law enforcement department. Imagine, if you will, a sheriff department of approximately 8 law enforcement personnel covering a rural county sized at 3,200 square miles with a population of approximately 13,000. This is located in the 'Emerald Triangle' (Trinity, Humboldt, Mendocino counties), a hotbed of marijuana farms, poppy grows, honey oil and methamphetamine manufacturing. Mexican, Russian, and Southeast Asian cartels operate many of these.
Recently a drug dealer was tracked and apprehended by K9, however that K9 needed to be requested as a mutual aid operation from the Department of Land Management Law Enforcement. Many law enforcement actions can now only be handled through mutual aid agreements with agencies possessing enforcement capabilities due to the lack of funding from the County.
Any funding donated through this page will be turned over to the Trinity County Sheriff's Auxilliary for it's K9 fund drive. Information is provided below, if you would rather donate directly.
