People of all backgrounds gather to enjoy delicious, nutritious, local food, regardless of their ability to pay. As a member of the One World Everybody Eats (OWEE) Network*, guests may make a donation for their meal (suggest cost per meal is $5.69-$6.46), or volunteer in exchange for their meal. Tricklebee Café is both a café and a chapel, allowing for continual feasting and sacred encounters with neighbors and the divine.
We are a sustainable cafe, relying on the seasonal harvests of local farmers, beekeepers, and gardeners to compose our menu (which changes on a daily basis). We understand that God’s kin(g)dom is revealed when we give food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty and welcome to the stranger (Jesus of Nazareth said that). At Tricklebee, we strive to promote joy and peace through feasting, frequent celebration, and communion with God and one another. In an age of post-church sentiments, we--who still consider ourselves church--hear: “The trick’ll be getting new church members.” We know, however, that the real trick’ll be freeing ourselves up to follow where God’s Spirit is already at work: in people’s hearts, around the table, and where love is genuine.
Thanks in advance for your kind support.
*Tricklebee Café adheres to the 7 Core Values of an OWEE Network Cafe:
-Pay-what-you-can pricing--Each customer sets their own price for their meal. (We have suggested prices.)
-Patrons choose own portion size--We offer small, smalle, mindful portion sizes. This helps eliminate food waste, curb overeating and supports our customers in adhering to their personal budget.
-Healthy, seasonal foods--We're committed to providing local and organic where possible; sustainably grown and harvested.
-Patrons can volunteer in exchange for a meal--This provides a “hand up, not a hand out” opportunity. Properly trained volunteer can lead to future employment in the food service industry.
-Volunteers are used to the greatest extent possible--This is an important key to building community and sustainability. Volunteers can just be working for meals or because they want to support your efforts to curb hunger in our community.
-Paid staff earn a living wage--This varies by region, but we pay our staff $14.32/hr.
-Community Table--Have a couple larger tables where individuals and small groups can sit with others and make a larger group that can cross social, economic and other societal boundaries.

We are well into our ThanksGIVING campaign with just 12 days left. So far we have raised $1,197 toward the rest of our 2018 operating costs! Thanks for the generous donations that keep trickling in. As busy pollinators know, a little bit of sweetness here and there adds up to an abundant harvest. Your gifts keep us thriving. :)
Hi Christie & Team, I just saw the Moravian Cafe mug. Could you use some of them ?
