TREK4TIKVA-Cash for Camp Tikva
Donation protected
Tikva is a two-pronged organisation, set up in 2003, supporting both adults with severe learning disabilities and their parent-carers and families in various ways.
Camp Tikva, which runs bi-annually for a week in the English countryside is the highlight of the season for both our disabled participants and their weary parent-carers who get a vital break from the daily grind.
Tailor made activities, exciting trips, catered meals and the high-ratio of staff needed incur very high costs. Most parents are on means-tested benefits and thus can only afford to pay a fraction of the true cost.
YOUR generous donation will help severely disabled adults, who do not fit into any other scheme, have a camp experience which they look forward to all season.
TREK4TIKVA is a community fundraising campaign which will take place on 19 July 2017, where participants, who pledge to raise a minimum of £100 for Camp Tikva, will take part in either a shorter or longer walk along London's River Lee and surrounding marshes and end with a hearty sponsored brunch at a local restaurant.
I am working as a hands-on volunteer with the Tikva charity to help co-ordinate the TREK4TIKVA event and raise awareness and interest in the community.
Donations can be made by Phone, text and Pay-pal by visiting Tikva's website www.tikvahope.org.uk .
